We at TOGA Run USA have a passion for fitness, healthy lifestyles, and inspiring others especially children! TOGA Run USA began as a way to help promote the Greek Festivals in Brooksville and West Palm Beach, but has grown into a celebration of our zest for life and sharing the Greek culture with everyone.
Each local Greek Orthodox Church Festivals celebrates the importance of family and friends through food, dance, and sharing our Greek Heritage. This is also why we donate a portion of the proceeds of each TOGA Run to different children's charities as we seek to support their ministries and increase awareness of their causes.
So Why Do You Run?
In a recent article by Fleet Feet Sports, runners were asked why they ran and we thought we would share a few of the responses:
I run because I believe you have to earn your pancakes.
I run because golf is boring.
I run because sometimes you need to cry.
I run because I have extended family. Who visit. Unexpectedly.
I run because the runner’s high is real, and it’s legal in all fifty states.
I run because I never want to waste money on laxatives.
I run because while I don’t ever plan on stealing anything, I want to be prepared, just in case.
I run because there’s no swagger like a post-long-run limp.
I run because I can solve more of the world’s problems in two miles than the United States Congress can solve in a two-year term.
I run because I want the free t-shirt that costs a $35 registration fee and 3.1 miles of torture.
At Toga Run USA we realize the motivations for participating in a 5K means different things to different people, but we seek to introduce the joy of completing a course to as many people as possible. Whether you are a timed competitor or a person preparing for your first run, we welcome you and look forward to sharing in your obsession.
